The "So Kool" experience |
... my biggest excitement this year! It won me the Best Host Maharashtra Times Award!!
 A programme for the television channel ‘Star Maza’,
it was conceptualized by Sandesh Kulkarni and me! All thanks to
Star Maza’s Rajiv Khandekar, with Milind Khandekar’s encouragement and
support, the show was a hit. In the first season of this program, we interviewed 30 inspiring personalities. I anchored
this show with Sandesh as the Director.
The invitees were my stars and so kool! The usp of this programme was that our dignitaries
were not called to a typical studio setup to have a formal conversation
with folded hands and legs. Instead, we used to travel all the way to their work place -
be it anywhere in India. These personalities were not necessarily
page 3 famous; but they were all my heros, all who have been dedicated to their
work, passion and mission. They give me strength and vision.

'Halla Bol’ telecast in E TV
Marathi in 2008. The concept and creative director of this show was Umesh
Jadhav.

I had an exciting time participating in Fear Factor ‘Khatron Ke
Khiladee’, the reality show which was shot entirely in South
Africa for 'Viacom 18 Colors'. The host of the show was Akshay
Kumar.

The "Jhalak Dikhla Jaa" experience |
I participated in the 2007 Jhalak Dikhla Jaa (Season 2) on Sony Entertainment
Television.
Jhalak Dikhla Jaa (Dancing
With Stars) is a reality TV show which features dance competitions among
contestants. Stars from various fields - cinema, music, sport and
theatre are coupled with choreographers. This popular dance reality
show was aired every Friday and Saturday on Sony TV. Veteran actor
Jeetendra, sexy Urmila Matondkar and the
famous choreographer Shaimak Davar were the
judges for my season of Jhalak.
I was paired with Toby Fernandes (who won
the 2006 contest of Jhalak). Rehearsals were tough and the judges
(Jeetenderji, Urmila and Shamak) were all experts in their respective
fields. Every contestant's survival in the show depends on the points
they receive from the judges and the votes got through phone
calls and sms.
I have never really danced in my films - the song in Dil
Chahta Hai was among my most popular. So with this background I
came into the show not sure how far I would get. My performances were
well appreciated, not just by the judges, but by all.
I'm happy that the number of people who voted for me
increased phenomenally over the weeks that I
took part in Jhalak.
