Three ladies, wives of successful husbands, join hands to help each other after a tragic event puts one of them in trouble.

REVIEW: After Candle March and the recent Yudh, Sugar Salt Aani Prem offers a different perspective into the topic of women empowerment. It puts forth the idea that women's problems are not restricted to any strata or specific classification.

Ananya ( Shilpa Tulaskar), Aditi ( Sonali Kulkarni) and Soumya ( Kranti Redkar) are married to Ajay ( Ajinkya Deo) a super-rich businessman, Rahul ( Sameer Dharmadhikari) a rich financial expert and Ravindra ( Prasad Oak) a guy trying to do something worthwhile for the sake of humanity. Apart from Soumya, the other two ladies are ridiculed by their husbands; Ananya for helping the needy and Aditi for dedicating her complete time to her autistic son. Soumya on the other hand has a loving husband who cares a lot for her. But tragedy strikes her first. Soon, Ananya and Aditi have had enough of their husband's tantrums and decide to take matters in their hands. The tragic event in Soumya's life brings the three together and they set out on a mission to fulfil Ravindra's dream.

At the first glance the film looks like one that will only scratch the surface of the problem instead of dealing with the crux of the matter. But it soon goes into full throttle and gives a lesson in women power to the viewers. Each actor, including Yatin Karyekar who plays the manipulative villain, gives the film their best shots but it is Sonali, Shilpa and Kranti who steal the show with their effortless flow of acting.

The film is a classic example of how a simple story can be turned into something that grips you and gives you a lesson in morality and empowerment. And it does so with a little bit of sugar, salt and love.
