White Lily Aani Night Rider touches the 300th mark

Actor Milind Phatak gets nostalgic about 'White Lily Aani Night Rider' which he conceived and conceptualised with late actress Rasika Joshi.

After Rasika passed away in 2011, actress Sonali Kulkarni took up the challenge to portray the character, originally played by her friend Rasika. Sonali even produced the play in her memory. It was after a decade that Sonali returned to Marathi commercial theatre. About stepping into Rasika's shoes, Sonali had said, "Not in my wildest dream I could imagine of essaying the role of White Lily originally essayed by Rasika. I have seen Rasika work in this play and I loved her job. However, I will be performing the character a little differently as I cannot ape her. In fact nobody can ape her. She was simply an actress of her own."

Milind who has been associated with the play right from the beginning is extremely happy about the success. Recently the play was also performed at Scotland where it was much appreciated by the audience there. He wrote on a micro-blogging website, "11th May Whitelily and Nightrider 300th show in total,100th with Sonali Kulkarni 3.30pm Shivaji Mandir, Dadar, Mumbai" (Sic.)

Actress Shilpa Tulaskar said, "Rasika was a very dear friend and so is Sonali. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Sonali for the achievement."
